Well Water Testing and Treatment

Private well water in this part of New Jersey commonly carries iron, manganese, hardness, and low pH, and some areas have arsenic or radon. Testing tells you what is actually in your water before anyone sells you equipment.

Treatment equipment is chosen from lab results. Installing a softener when the problem is pH or iron bacteria solves nothing.

Calcium and magnesium. Causes scale in fixtures, water heaters, and appliances. Addressed with a softener.

Staining on fixtures and laundry, metallic taste. Different iron forms need different filtration.

Acidic water corrodes copper plumbing and leaches metals into the water. Corrected with a neutralizer.

Both occur naturally in bedrock in parts of New Jersey. Neither is detectable by taste, smell, or appearance. Only a lab test finds them.
